Typical energy efficiency improvement applications are to replace energy intensive metal halide and high pressure sodium electric outdoor lighting – with energy efficient LED and induction lighting for streets, parking, area and security lights as well as parking decks, wall packs, flood lights, canopy and decorative lights. Both LED & Induction lighting are great energy efficient and cost effective options for new installations.

Retrofits For Existing Fixtures
Induction lighting can often be the best choice for the retrofit of existing light fixtures. It is typically a fraction of the cost to retrofit metal halide and high pressure sodium with induction lighting than replace them with new LED fixtures. All of the above benefits apply to both.

 

Induction retrofits still use the same reflectors and lens of the existing fixtures which means that light patterns and areas of coverage remain exactly the same. That is not the case with LED lighting retrofits or replacements.

 

LED & Induction lighting use different technologies but both offer these benefits:

•	Brilliant white lighting
•	50% to 75% energy savings to generate essentially the same light output
•	Extended life of light sources from 50,000 to 100,000 hrs (1 to 2 decades delivering 10-12 hrs of light per night) depending on the fixture compared to 10,000 to 15,000 hrs (2 to 3 years).
•	Significant reductions in operating and maintenance costs due to increased light bulb life, reduced bulb and ballast changes
•	Optional dimming capabilities can be incorporated to further reduce costs
